A Story that Made Me Smile
Paris — City of Love
Yesterday, I was reading a story. It was the story of a government officer, Mr. Aiyer, who was about to retire from his job. But before that, he received an offer to go to Paris with his colleagues. He also took his wife with him. They had a day tour in Paris as it was an industrial tour, so they had a one-day tour to visit some places in Paris. I won’t write that story here, haha.
But the main thing that made me smile while reading it was when Mr. Aiyer was visiting the Eiffel Tower. He got lost there because he went to pee without telling anyone, and his bus left without him. He didn’t have more than 2 euros with him, and ironically, he used that money to buy a coffee. While he was feeling so sad and didn’t even know the language of Paris, he saw an Indian there and went to talk to him, telling his story of getting lost. The man listened to everything and decided to help him selflessly. Mr. Aiyer told him that his bus would go to the Louvre Museum in the afternoon. The man bought a ticket for himself to the museum and went there with Mr. Aiyer. Finally, Mr. Aiyer made it to the museum and saw his bus, but he forgot to thank the man. anyway, the story ended on a happy note.
But this story made me think about how cool travel could be, where a person selflessly helps someone who doesn’t even know them. It sounds amazing.
Then I thought, would I get someone that helpful if I were in that situation? Then I realized, why can’t I be that “someone” for someone? I felt kindness and compassion inside me, and that’s what made me smile yesterday. :)
And It made me believe that
Paris is actually a City of Love.
