find your excuse to travel
Travel is still the most intense mode of learning. If you get a chance to travel, just do it. — Kevin Kelly
I’ve been faithfully reading one page daily from Rolf Potts’ book, “The Vagabond’s Way,” and I particularly liked the page about Kevin Kelly’s story.
As a college student, Kevin got the opportunity to travel the world by doing photography for National Geographic, so he left his college and went to Taiwan to pursue his passion for photography.
While in Taiwan, his entire plan was to be out all day, capturing photographs, exploring, traveling vigorously, and always moving.
After that trip, even though he didn’t become a full-time photographer, his journey to Asia changed his life. As he once said, ‘Photography was my reason to explore the world.’
This sentence has truly inspired me to find my own excuse to travel the world, just as he did everything I dream of.
So now, inspired by him, I’m on the hunt for my own excuse to travel. Perhaps it’s through writing, making videos, or perhaps by learning a new language and its culture. I am finding my reason to see the beauty of the world.
But what about you? What’s your excuse?
Thank you for reading.
